City Park
Our City Park is located at the Corner of Liberty and Fifth Street next to St. Michael's Episcopal Church. It is a relaxing spot for everyone to gather whether a resident or a visitor just passing through town. The park offers large shady trees and tables just right for picnics. There are swings suitable for both children and adults as well as playground equipment made for hours of fun. The gazebo can be reserved by filling out the reservation form available at City Hall. Please know that only the gazebo can be reserved for special events. The rest of the park will remain open to the public.
Mini Park
The Mini Park is located right in the middle of town where Highway 56 and Highway 25 intersect across from the Burke County Courthouse. This relaxing green space built in the late 1980's is nice and shady with a center fountain and benches made for spending time with friends or just enjoying a nice cup of coffee to get your morning started.
Park at Liberty and Ninth
The park at the corner of Ninth and Liberty is a result of a community project. It was designed by local resident Alice Mann and funds were donated to construct the park by community residents in 2004. What was once an empty lot at the corner of Liberty and 9th Street now welcomes visitors and residents alike as they enter our City. It has a lovely fountain and arbor complete with benches to sit and rest awhile. The Burkeland Garden Club sees that the plantings are kept attractive and interesting.
Sixth Street Park
The park at 6th Street is across from Thomas Grove Baptist Church on the west side of town. It includes a basketball court and and a play area for children.
